WINTIPAK – Planet

Simply because we love the Earth. That’s why our latest product, WINTIPAK, puts sustainability at its heart. It is designed to reduce the environmental footprint of aseptic packaging material by being linked to renewable bio-attributed polymers as an alternative to the traditional fossil fuel-derived polymers in use today.

Aseptic carton packaging already includes a large proportion of renewable materials and WINTIPAK goes a step further. The bio-attributed polymers, incorporated into Wintipak’s production process through an RSB® certified mass balance approach*, are linked to tall oil, a natural by-product of paper manufacturing, sourced from responsibly managed forests. This increases the proportion of renewable, plant-derived materials in the production process of this packaging material.

WINTIPAK not only empowers liquid dairy and beverage producers to improve their positioning and communication on sustainability and responsible sourcing, it is ready to run on your existing filling machines without any changes, validations or efficiency losses.

As the world increasingly expects the food and beverage industry to take actions that reduce environmental impact, WINTIPAK offers the chance for producers to live up to this responsibility. Through WINTIPAK, we offer sustainable packaging materials without compromising on food safety and excellent quality – For a better tomorrow!

Packaging Material

The packaging material manufactured by WINTIPAK at its German plant is made of paperboard, polymers, and aluminium foil, alongside vanishingly small quantities of printing ink.

Paperboard: As with our standard products, WINTIPAK contains more than 70% paperboard by weight. All WINTIPAK packaging is made with FSC™ certified paperboard (FSC™ 111449), which is sourced from sustainably managed, renewable forests.

Polymers: WINTIPAK accelerates the industry transition towards renewable materials that are linked to plant-based sources, using an RSB® certified mass balance approach. The bio-attributed polymer used in the production process is linked to tall oil, a by-product of paper production and sourced from responsibly managed forests.

Aluminium: An extremely thin layer of aluminium foil, accounting for 5–6% of the packaging material by weight, provides a robust protection against moisture, odours, flavours and light.

Available Formats

Available across all WINTIPAK packages manufactured in Europe.
